Name Chosen for the Abbotsford Hospice Society Facility: Holmberg House

Mike de Jong, Minister of Health, recently announced that the new Abbotsford Hospice will be named after David Holmberg Jr.

Keystone is pleased to work on the Holmberg House with the Abbotsford Hospice Society and the other partners in the David Lede Campus of Care in Abbotsford. The campus will also house Canucks Place Children's Hospice and Matthew's House. The Hospice has been designed to express the ideals of the numerous support services it provides to those experiencing bereavement. General design features and compositional elements will create a comforting complementary care setting that embodies the universal characteristic of hospice care.

The proposed hospice will be a 10 bed/20,000 s.f. facility, with construction expected to begin early 2012.  For more information on this project, click here, or visit the Abbotsford Hospice Society website here.



George Schmidt Centre to Start Construction Soon on the Kinghaven Treatment Centre Campus

The construction documents are nearing completion on this BC Housing project, with building permit application anticipated for the end of October 2011, and construction scheduled to start in early 2012.

Teaming up with Mierau Construction, this LEED Gold project will have 31 residential units.

Justin Dyck obtains 'architect' accreditation

Keystone Architecture & Planning Ltd. is pleased to announce Justin Dyck has recently obtained his accreditation as an Architect with the Architectural Institute of British Columbia. In addition, as of August 1, 2011 – Justin is now an Associate with Keystone Architecture.

Justin joined Keystone Architecture in October 2008 as an Intern Architect.  He completed his Masters of Architecture & Bachelors of Environmental Design at University of Manitoba in 2007, earning the AIA Henry Adams Gold medal for highest academic achievement in the Masters of Architecture program.

Justin has a good understanding in all areas of the industry, working on various projects in the past 2 ½ years at Keystone as well as previous experience in the UK and Winnipeg. 

With his innovative & sustainable design abilities, he brings a fresh perspective to Keystone and we are pleased to have him as part of our team.
