CHALLENGE

• To design amenity spaces in narrow passageways between three buildings

SOLUTION

• Orientation of the buildings allow for three separate amenity spaces
• Engagement opportunities include a dog run, game tables, tic-tac-toe, cornhole, chess pavers, plus a sandbox and mud kitchen
• Relaxing areas near raised edible gardens, boulder seating, or nodes nested in a coniferous backdrop
• Ground plane is spotted with textures stemming from small unit pavers, 2’x2’ concrete slabs, sawcut concrete, wood fiber, and bound gravel
• Texture changes within the undulation of joint materials, loose material characteristics, and retaining walls with either a smooth, cast-in-place concrete wall, a pre-cast concrete wall with established reveals, or a modular wall featuring various block sizes
